Ishues is the meandering musings of Brian Bauer, Managing Partner of 100Waters Group. It explores the gray areas encountered in life and the entrepreneurial journey that often fit into the category of “-ish”.
“My startup is going well-ish.” | “I’ll be there at 6pm-ish.” | “I want it to be red. Ish.” | “We think the price is $10-ish.”
100Waters Group is business incubator and consultancy collective with a focus on helping the small business (or new business) get bigger … fast.
Our thesis is that People Matter. Today’s workforce is more dynamic, flexible and individualistic than ever – yet the core needs of every business remain the same. Employees crave opportunity, a sense of ownership and the freedom to excel, and given those ingredients, and managed appropriately, will deliver above average value back to the company.
Our motto is: Communicate fearlessly. Compress time. Work tirelessly. Love what you do. Defy gravity.
Current projects include:
A social competition platform for keeping friendships strong across time and georgraphy.
A provider of high end custom Hardox wearparts to the aggregate industry.
Manufacturer of premium drill bits to the wood and metal working industries.
With unique expertise and education spanning technology and business development, I bridge the gulf between capital partners and project delivery teams as a member of senior management. My specialty lies in early phase companies with high growth curves—I guide successful businesses through their awkward adolescence.
I am currently the Managing Principal at 100Waters Group, a startup and small business collective formed to help business owners scale great concepts. I am actively involved with the startup Kurfuffl and advising numerous startups in the Chicago entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Previously, I was the Vice President of Operations and Client Services at Cellit, where I played the role of internal mobile stakeholder for numerous Fortune 500 companies and nationally recognized brands. Prior to that, I served as Vice President & General Manager of Barrington Interactive. I holds an Executive MBA at the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business and a B.S. in Business Administration from Truman State University. You’ll soon learn that in addition to running triathlons, I have a love for Shamrock Shakes.
